International cricketers from the West Indies and Bangladesh will be among the first guests at the newest hotel to open in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
The state-owned property which will be run under the international hotel chain Holiday Inn Express and Suites was officially handed over to the government this evening (November 16) at its location at Diamond.
The USD 10.7 million (approximately XCD 28.9 million) property which has four floors, 93 rooms, a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool and accesible rooms for the differently abled will be open for business on November 22, and less than a month after, will be a temporary home for players, coaches, and officials.

The property is located near the Argyle International Airport and next to the Sir Vincent Beache Athletics Stadium and is mainly for business guests and people into sports tourism.
As part of their tour of the West Indies, Bangladesh will play three international T20 matches in SVG, the first scheduled for December 15, the second for December 17, and the final for December 19. All matches will be played at the Arnos Vale Cricket Ground.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves who spoke at a ceremony to mark the handing over of the property from the contractors to the Government said a building located just above the hotel which was used as the headquarters for the contractors – NH International will now be used as the country’s newest police station.
