A man is dead after succumbing to gunshot injuries he sustained tonight (January 2).

The man has been identified as Andrew Williams of Fountain. His death marks the second confirmed homicide of 2025 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

The circumstances surrounding his shooting are unclear, but he was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after being shot.

He succumbed to his injuries.

His death comes after that of Albert Lorenzo Lewis, a 63-year-old farmer and welder of Hopewell, Marriaqua.

In a January 2 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said preliminary reports indicate that on the morning of January 2, 2025, a neighbor discovered Mr. Lewis motionless on the porch of his home and alerted the police. Officers promptly responded to the scene, where they found the deceased with what appeared to be a wound to the right side of his face and additional scrapes about his body.

Police are investigating the homicides.
