Coreas Hazells Inc., a private sector company, announced on Monday that Coreas Building Supplies will offer VAT-free shopping for one week across all Ace Hardware locations in St. Vincent.

Currently, the Value Added Tax (VAT) is 16 percent on most goods in the country; however, the company stated that from January 28 to February 3, 2025, customers will pay no VAT.

“While you enjoy VAT-free shopping, Coreas Building Supplies will cover the VAT and remit it to the government,” the company said, adding that “terms and conditions apply.”

Ace Hardware stores are located in Kingstown, Arnos Vale, Pembroke, and Diamond.

Many people across St. Vincent and the Grenadines have been calling for VAT-free shopping periods.

However, these calls have primarily been directed at the government.
