The Central Water and Sewage Authority (CWSA) reported today, January 28, that a second landslide has damaged its water supply network in Copeland Mountain just hours after repairs were completed on the damage caused by a previous landslide.
“Currently, communities from Spring Village to Richmond are once again without water supply. Restoration work is already underway to complete repairs as soon as possible,” the CWSA stated in a Facebook post.

The CWSA explained that after repairs were finalized last night, January 27, on the previously reported damage to its network in Copeland Mountain, another landslide occurred this morning, severing an additional section of pipeline.
The damage from the first landslide, which took place on January 24, required three days for repairs to be completed.

The CWSA shared videos on its Facebook page, depicting multiple workers navigating hazardous and steep mountain terrain while transporting heavy pipes to repair the water supply system from January 24 to 27.
This latest development today about another disruption to water supply is likely to be unwelcome news for residents of North Leeward.
The CWSA has stated that it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available and has apologised for any inconvenience caused.
