The UWI Global Campus St. Vincent and the Grenadines has announced that they will be having a lecture to reverbate the importance of celebrating Black History Month.
The lecture will take place on Saturday February 22, 2025, at the UWI Global Campus SVG at Richmond Hill Road in Kingstown. It will be delivered by Dr. Henderson Carter.

The topic to be discussed is “Elevating Black History for Nation Building and Development.”
Dr. Carter who is a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Philosophy and History at The UWI Cave Hill Campus, posits that “this celebration is necessary and vital for a people whose history and heritage have been suppressed under the weight of 300+ years of colonial rule. Moreover, we must promote black history as a viable tool for nation building and development.”

Head of Site of The UWI GCSVG, Dr. Resa Noel-McBarnett, expressed elation in hosting the event and welcomes the public to attend.
The UWI Black History Month Lecture will commence at 6pm and attendees are kindly asked to be seated by 5:45pm.
