Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning of Petra Ortlepp, a 58-year-old German national, at Mt. Wynne on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
In a February 26 press release, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said: Reports indicate that Ortlepp was swimming with friends around midday when she was later seen floating face down in the water. Efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Medical personnel, arrived at the scene and pronounced her dead, and authorization was given for the removal of the body, police said.
A postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
Investigations are ongoing. Our condolences go out to the grieving family and friends during this difficult time, the RSVGPF said.

Police have arrested and charged Kyle Lewis, a 26-year-old fisherman from Union Island, for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and drug trafficking.
According to investigations, Lewis was found with 1,503 grams of cannabis on February 25, 2025, with intent to supply. He was also charged with drug trafficking. The offences were committed at the Main Port in Kingstown.
Lewis appeared before the Serious Offences Court on February 26, 2025, and pleaded guilty to the charges. For the Drug Trafficking charge, he was fined $400.00 ECC and for the Possession of Control Drugs charge, he was fined $250.00 ECC, both are to be paid in one month. If he defaults, he will spend one month at His Majesty’s Prison

Trinidadian Fisherman Charged with Drug Possession and Drug Trafficking
On February 25, 2025, police arrested and charged Johnathon Williams, a 29-year-old fisherman from Trinidad, with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply and drug trafficking.
Investigations revealed that Williams was found with 1,648 grams of cannabis, allegedly for intent to supply and drug trafficking. The incident occurred at the Main Port in Kingstown.
Williams appeared before the Serious Offences Court on February 26, 2025, and pleaded guilty to the charges. For the Drug Trafficking charge, he was fined $400.00 ECC and for the Possession of Control Drugs charge, he was fined $300.00 ECC, both are to be paid within one month. In default, he will spend three months at His Majesty’s Prison.

Green Hill Resident Charged with Property Damage
Police have arrested and charged Attila Sterling, a 24-year-old resident of Green Hill, with the offence of damage to property.
Investigations indicate that on February 22, 2025, Sterling allegedly damaged the roof of a motor vehicle (H-8657) valued at $500.00 ECC. The vehicle belongs to Jerden Jacobs, a 23-year-old resident of Green Hill.
Sterling is expected to appear before the Kingstown Magistrate Court to answer to the charge.
