Former member of Parliament for South Central Windward Allan Cruickshank has died at the age of 73.
Mr. Cruickshank died on Saturday morning at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after a period of illness.
According to the House of Assembly’s website, Mr. Cruickshank served as a minister of government and member of parliament for South Central Windward from 1984 to 2001, representing the New Democratic Party (NDP).
He served as Minister of Education and Health: from 23rd of August 1984 to the 30th of May 1985. Then, Minister of Education from the 30th of July 1985 to the 26th of June 1986, then as Minister of Communications and Works from the 23rd of October 1986 to the 23rd of March 1989.

He was also the Minister of Agriculture, Industry and Labour from the 13th of June 1989 to the 16th of December 1994, after which he served as Minister of Agriculture and Labour from the 26th of January 1995 to the 18th of December 1997.
His final stint as a government minister was as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tourism and Information from the 12th of February 1998 to the 11th of January 2001.
Mr. Cruickshank also served as the General Secretary of the New Democratic Party (NDP).
