The Rotaract Club of Kingstown recently marked its 39th Charter Anniversary on March 15, celebrating nearly four decades of service, leadership, and community impact.

As part of this milestone, the club hosted a series of initiatives during World Rotaract Week (March 10-15, 2025), reaffirming its commitment to service and youth development in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The Charter Week celebrations coincided with World Rotaract Week and featured impactful events, including:

A visit from District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Rolinzo Huur of Suriname, who shared valuable insights and experiences that encouraged international collaboration and inspired its members. His visit highlighted the global connections that Rotaract fosters and reinforced the impact of their clubs beyond national borders.

A joint meeting with the Interact Club of the St. Vincent Girls’ High School and the Interact Club of the St. Martin’s Secondary School. This encouraged intergenerational mentorship and collaboration between Rotaract and Interact members. This opportunity allowed Rotaract and Interact members to exchange ideas, strengthen their shared commitment to community service and determine areas where they can support each other to maximize their impact.

World Rotaract Day (March 13th) was celebrated with a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (W.A.S.H.) Education Session at the Buccament Government School in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. To support W.A.S.H. education, Facey Trading provided a generous donation of hygiene supplies.

A visit to Pavement, a river located in the Greiggs community on National Heroes Days. This was seen as an amazing way to engage in fellowship and strengthen camaraderie while appreciating the natural beauty of the island.

A Charter Day ceremony on March 15, welcoming two new members into the club.

Rotaract continues to grow in SVG as well as globally, strengthening their ability to serve and engage more young people in the values of Rotary.

“Our week-long celebration is not only a tribute to the incredible legacy of Rotaract but also a reaffirmation of our commitment to supporting communities in St Vincent and the Grenadines, and beyond,” said Simone Allen, current President of the Rotaract Club of Kingstown.

“We were thrilled to host our esteemed District Rotaract Representative, Rolinzo, from Suriname, collaborate with members, and recognize our generous partners whose donations significantly contribute to our community initiatives and support our mission.”

She further stated: “This week has been a powerful reminder of why we serve: bringing people together, making a difference, and inspiring the next generation of leaders. We are grateful to our members, partners, and the wider community for supporting our journey over the years. We are excited to continue collaborating with our partners and share our experiences by ensuring that our initiatives continue to make a lasting impact.”
