Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Major Crimes Unit, Mr Trevor Bailey, has stated that police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a female of interest in connection with the homicide in Vermont on 23 May.

At a press conference on May 26, Mr Bailey said: “During the Vermont investigation, a female of interest surfaced, and I want to put out an appeal to the general public. We’re seeking your assistance in identifying this female.”

“She is not known to us,” he added, emphasising that she is a person of interest.

He urged anyone with information regarding any person seen with Mr Harry and a female earlier that evening to contact the police and have a conversation. “We’ll be grateful, but that person is of tremendous importance to us in this investigation.”

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Denzil Harry’s death.

The body of Denzil Harry, a 49-year-old farmer residing in Diamond/Vermont, was found at his home at 7:35 a.m. on 23 May 2025. Preliminary investigations revealed that residents of the community reported hearing gunshots during the night. Following these reports, a community member checked on Mr Harry and discovered the body. The matter was reported to the Vermont Police, who promptly responded and secured the scene.

The District Medical Officer attended the scene and officially pronounced Mr Harry deceased. The District Magistrate authorised the removal of the body. The Crime Scene Unit (CSU) processed the scene and collected exhibits of evidential value.
