Dark Mode, the second edition of the Tarmac Takeover series, was held at the decommissioned ET Joshua Airport on 8 June 2025. The event made history as the first night-time dexterity racing event in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The event was organised by 784Streetz and Hyperspeed.
Distinguishing itself from its predecessor, Dark Mode featured an entirely local line-up of racers, demonstrating the growing talent and enthusiasm within the nation’s motor sport scene.
In the lead-up to the event, drivers participated in The Rollout—a sponsor-focused initiative which involved engagements with businesses such as One St Vincent Group, The Trend, and KFC.
Racing commenced after sunset with practice laps, followed by continuous heats under floodlights. According to attendees, the pace was relentless, the atmosphere electric, and the competition intense.

The two primary race categories, All Wheel Drive (AWD) and Two Wheel Drive (2WD), delivered several standout moments.
All Wheel Drive (AWD) Results:
1st place: Keith Francis – Mitsubishi Evo 3
2nd place: Zachareaus Williams – Subaru Impreza WRX
3rd place: Diondre Woodly – Mitsubishi Evo 5
Fastest AWD Time: Chad Francis – Mitsubishi Eclipse – 0:58.49
Two Wheel Drive (2WD) Results:
1st place: Daniel Anderson – BMW E36
2nd place: TJ Deane – Toyota Altezza
3rd place: Elroy Samuel – Suzuki Swift ZC33S
Fastest 2WD Time: TJ Deane – 1:05.06
In a statement, the Tarmac Takeover team said: “The Tarmac Takeover Team is appreciative of the energy and collaboration each of you contributed. We look forward to future opportunities to build together. Thank you for making this event a true success.”
Organisers have confirmed that Tarmac Takeover: Night Stage will return in October as part of the Independence celebrations. The upcoming edition will also feature the return of the popular School Tours, which aim to educate young people about careers in motor sports, promote safe driving, and strengthen grassroots support for the sport.
