A member of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is among two individuals who were shot on the morning of Saturday, 14 June.
One News SVG understands that the shooting occurred in the Chauncey area of South Leeward.
The officer who is a member of the Special Services Unit (SSU), was shot in his line of duty. The reports state that he was conducting a search. The other circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear.
Both men are receiving treatment for their injuries at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
The officer in question is reported to have been in uniform when he was shot in the chest, while the other injured party sustained gunshot wounds to the lower extremities.
The identities of the affected individuals have not yet been disclosed.
