The St. Vincent Building and Loan Association (SVBLA) will host its SVBLA Marketplace on Friday, June 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as part of efforts to support local businesses and help Vincentians prepare for the upcoming Carnival season.
The event, which will be held at the organisation’s headquarters, is expected to provide a dynamic and festive space for shopping, entertainment, and community engagement.
According to SVBLA, the marketplace is designed to highlight cultural expression while offering members of the public an opportunity to support local entrepreneurs and enjoy exclusive offers.
A variety of businesses will be participating in the event, offering Carnival accessories, souvenirs, beauty and skincare products, and local refreshments, including smoothies and wines. The lineup will also feature a Monday T-Shirt Band and a local tour company, broadening the range of Carnival-related services and experiences available to attendees. Specialty booths and services will cater to both locals and visitors preparing for the summer season.

Throughout the day, customers and members of SVBLA will be able to access exclusive promotions, loan consultations, and discounts from participating vendors. The event will also include music from a live DJ, prize giveaways, and a “Marketplace Bingo Challenge,” where patrons can complete simple tasks during their visit to qualify for a grand prize. Customers with pre-booked loan appointments will also be eligible for additional rewards. Survival kits and tokens for children will be available to enhance the experience for families attending.
The initiative is part of SVBLA’s “Tun Up De Vibes” campaign, which offers tailored financing options to help individuals participate in national and regional cultural events, including Vincy Mas, Spicemas, Cropover, and Lucian Carnival. The loan campaign also supports summer plans such as staycations, vacations, and travel, making these activities more accessible for Vincentians.
Organisers say the event is intended to blend financial empowerment with cultural celebration, reinforcing SVBLA’s commitment to community engagement and seasonal support.
