The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has officially launched its regional campaign titled “Prepared at All Times,” an initiative aimed at strengthening the culture of prevention, resilience, and service within Caribbean communities as the hurricane season begins.
This year, the campaign is distinguished by close collaboration with emergency response agencies across multiple countries and territories, affirming the Church’s role as a proactive partner in disaster preparedness.
For more than eight years, this campaign has served as a benchmark in community readiness against natural disasters. In 2025, over 300 Church meetinghouses throughout the Caribbean have been designated as training centers, offering free workshops on risk management, first aid, food storage, and family organization — directly supporting the safety and well-being of thousands.
“Preparation isn’t just about having supplies; it’s a gesture of love for our neighbor and a demonstration of the gospel in action,” said Elder Valeri Cordón, First Counselor in the Caribbean Area Presidency, citing 1 Nephi 18:6 as a source of spiritual encouragement for responsible action.

As part of the campaign, a regional podcast series will feature experts in meteorology, risk management, and community leadership. Among the guests are prominent journalists, humanitarian professionals, and organizational leaders who offer practical guidance on how to respond before, during, and after a storm.
Beyond training, the Church has demonstrated robust emergency response capabilities in coordination with local authorities, using its facilities as distribution hubs for food, clothing, hygiene kits, and emotional support during critical times.
Miguelina Valenzuela, Director of Communication for the Caribbean Area, reflected on the Church’s commitment to holistic care, stating:
“Every action we take is an expression of the gospel. We don’t talk about prevention in the abstract — we talk about saving lives, strengthening families, and lovingly caring for those in greatest need.”
