The Emancipation Cricket Festival presents Kyle Mayers international marquee player, Windward Warriors.
There was a time in our history when runaway slaves from Barbados allied their will for freedom with the trade winds and navigated to St.Vincent to encamp with Garifuna warriors against the British. And here we are again, another Barbadian is coming across the waves to join forces with warriors in St.Vincent.
His name is Kyle Mayers, a maverick left-handed batsman who scored a double century (210) on his Test debut for the West Indies. He has played in all formats of cricket for the West Indies and his international performances have landed him T20 cricket contracts around the globe; from Asia, to North America, to Australia.
Now, he is one of the hired guns recruited by Windward Warriors for the Emancipation Cricket Festival. His dashing left-handed stroke play is not the only weaponry the Warriors will boast in their arsenal.
Kyle is also a steady medium pace bowler. Kyle’s alliance with the Windward Warriors is a sign that canons are being loaded and readied to explode at Arnosvale, just like the days of old!

July 31-August 3, Arnos Vale stadium, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
The matches
The matches will begin on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, when Leeward Lions will face Kingstown Kings at 7:00 p.m.
Then, on Friday, August 1, Emancipation Day, Stubbs Masters will face SVG Hairouners at 3:30 p.m., and Grenadines Whalers will face Windward Warriors at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, August 2, there will be the third-place play-offs at 7:00 p.m, then on Sunday, August 3rd, Northern Girls will face Southern Girls at 3:30 p.m.
Then the finals which will be between Game 1 and Game 2 winners will take place at 7:00 p.m.
All matches will be held at the Arnos Vale Stadium.
