At least 2 shot, 1 reportedly missing after boat shooting at Owia

A boat was fired upon off the waters near Owia this afternoon by occupants of another vessel from a neighbouring country.

Residents report that two individuals sustained gunshot wounds; one was brought ashore, while the other remains unaccounted for.

Local police are currently at the scene.

In recent years, Owia has been in the news for drug-related activities, particularly cocaine busts.

The cause of the most recent incident, however, is yet to be determined.
