Vincentians to Benefit from Free Eye Clinics This August

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, in collaboration with the Sandals Foundation and iCARE Great Shape Inc., has announced a series of free eye care clinics scheduled to take place from Monday, 4th August to Friday, 8th August 2025.

These clinics will offer comprehensive eye health services to citizens of all ages, completely free of charge and with no registration required.

From Monday, 4th August to Thursday, 7th August, the clinics will be held at the St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School in Kingstown from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Friday, 8th August, the final clinic will take place at the Sandals St. Vincent Ballroom in Buccament, also from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The range of services to be provided includes eye testing for vision, diseases, and injuries, along with the distribution of medications and referrals where necessary. Attendees will also receive free prescription glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses. In addition, laser procedures will be offered for diabetic retinopathy, and health screenings for diabetes and hypertension will also be available.

No registration is required, and all services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to differently-abled persons, the elderly, pregnant women, and children under five years of age to ensure timely access to care.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to promoting equitable access to essential healthcare services and enhancing the overall well-being of the Vincentian population through improved eye health.
