Local technology company VONZUU, renowned for its food delivery services, has broadened its scope to create opportunities for individuals to supplement their income.
At present, the company is offering employment opportunities for its “Earn Extra Cash” initiative.
Ms Candice Sealey, Founder & Principal at Ignite!, a locally based Marketing & PR Consultancy, informed One News SVG that the company is currently recruiting drivers and delivery personnel, preferably those aged 25 and above who are available to work evenings, weekends, or overtime to earn additional income. There are also opportunities to work full shifts.
She explained that applicants “can have your own scooter or you can use the company scooter, you can have your own vehicle or car”. Even if it’s a case where you want to just make a couple extra dollars when you finish work, so it’s not a 9 to 5, 8 to 4 situation, even if you have another job, um, you can still do delivery for VONZUU when you are available.”
Ms Sealey added that, specifically in Kingstown, individuals have the option to work as “delivery persons on foot to do delivery in and around Kingstown, because obviously there’s only so far they’ll be able to walk”.
She also noted that the company, under its VONZUU SVG brand, is recruiting shoppers.
“So as a shopper, it means that you would do the grocery shopping for customers and then, um, you may hand it over to a driver to deliver or you may actually do delivery as well, so shoppers will either shop for groceries or for other items for customers and hand off to a driver or deliver directly.”
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their CV or résumé to the email address: careers@vonzuu.com and managersvg@vonzuu.com (send to both emails). Ms Sealey further advised that those applying to be drivers must possess a valid driving licence and provide a recent clean police record. Applicants may send scanned copies of their driving licence and police record along with their CV. If the police record is not yet immediately available, applicants may still submit their CV and driving licence as soon as possible, and additional time will be allowed to obtain the police record.
Ms Sealey also outlined the sign-up procedure for those wishing to become shoppers.
“For the shoppers, customer service experience and any experience in retail would be an asset, but they would also receive training,” she said, noting that this applies to drivers as well. “Good customer service skills as well with communication skills for both of them, but again training will be provided.”
