Grenadines makes history winning inaugural ECF

Grenadines Whalers made history on Sunday (August 3) by winning the inaugural Emancipation Cricket Festival (ECF).

The team defeated the Kingstown Kings after some incredible batting and despite some untidy fielding.

Batting first, the Grenadines Whalers made 216/5 off 20 overs after an explosive innings where Andre Fletcher made 124 runs. 

They received a donation of USD $1000 for team development purposes. 

In reply, Kingstown Kings, set 217 to win were restricted to 194/8.

At the closing ceremony, Mr. Jomel Warrican, captain of the Grenadines Whalers congratulated his players and thanked the fans for their support. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Kesrick Williams, Captain of the Grenadines Whalers said we need more cricket activities such as the ECF competition.

Windward Warriors defeated the Leeward Lions tonight (August 2), to claim third place in the  inaugural Emancipation Cricket Festival (ECF).
