The Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred along the Gorse Public Road in Colonarie at approximately 8:55 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025.
In an August 4 press release, the RSVGPF said: According to preliminary investigations, motor vehicle PL-804, owned and driven by Mr. Carlos Tash, a 54-year-old Chauffeur of Belmont, ran off the roadway under unknown circumstances. At the time of the incident, the vehicle was also occupied by Ms. Annette Huggins, a 37-year-old Housekeeper of Owia/Sandy Bay.
“Personnel from the Colonarie Police Station, the Fire Department, and the Medical Services responded promptly to the scene. Ms. Huggins was found unresponsive. A District Medical Officer (DMO) subsequently arrived on scene and officially pronounced her dead,” police said.
“The driver sustained injuries to various parts of his body and was initially treated at the Georgetown Modern Medical Centre. He was subsequently transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital for further medical attention.”
“Motor vehicle PL-804 sustained extensive damage. Measurements were taken at the scene, which will be revisited as investigations progress. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” the police report further stated.
The deceased is reportedly related to Normanie Duncan, a young man who died in a car accident in the same area (Gorse) on Sunday, 2 February 2025.
The RSVGPF said extends condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased and encourages anyone with information that may assist with the investigation to contact the Colonarie Police Station or Police Control at 457-1211.
