The St. Vincent Girls’ High School dominated the May/June 2025 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC) with a pass rate of 98.92%.
The Ministry of Education officially received the results on 27 August 2025.
This year, 2,212 candidates were registered, of whom 1,570 were school candidates, and 642 were private candidates. A total of 1,557 school candidates from 28 secondary schools sat Papers I and II, with 10,440 subject entries across 31 subject areas.
Approximately 79.11% of subject entries were awarded Grades I–III, compared with 73.60% in 2024. This year, 18.94% of passes were at Grade I level, 40.03% at Grade II, and 41.03% at Grade III. The corresponding figures in 2024 were 17.20% at Grade I, 40.67% at Grade II, and 42.13% at Grade III.
Eight schools recorded percentage pass rates of 80% or higher. These schools are: Girls’ High School – 98.92%; St. Vincent Grammar School – 94.86%; St. Martin’s Secondary School – 90.13%; St. Joseph’s Convent, Kingstown – 88.19%; Canouan Secondary School – 85.25%; Thomas Saunders Secondary School – 85.08%; St. Joseph’s Convent, Marriaqua – 84.39%; and Bequia Seventh Day Adventist School – 81.88%.
Seventeen schools obtained creditable pass rates between 60% and 80%. These are: North Union Secondary School – 78.86%; Bishop’s College, Kingstown – 77.89%; West St. George Secondary School – 75.23%; St. Clair Dacon Secondary School – 74.52%; Bethel High School – 72.76%; Mountain View Adventist Academy – 69.44%; Sandy Bay Secondary School – 67.94%; Union Island Secondary School – 67.16%; Georgetown Secondary School – 66.31%; Intermediate High School – 66.12%; Troumaca Ontario Secondary School – 64.41%; Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia – 63.28%; Barrouallie Secondary School – 63.13%; Adelphi Secondary School – 62.76%; Buccament Bay Secondary School – 62.70%; Dr. J. P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School – 61.75%; and Bequia Community High School – 60.22%.

The largest subject entries were in English A (1,318), Mathematics (1,258), Social Studies (718), and Electronic Document Preparation and Management (689). The lowest entries were in Religious Education (13), Additional Mathematics (39), and Music (16).
Subjects with the highest percentage pass rates were Physical Education and Sport (99.64%), Theatre Arts (94.87%), and Additional Mathematics (94.87%). Subjects with the lowest percentage pass rates were Mathematics (34.34%) and Technical Drawing (59.17%).
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects with the highest percentage pass rates were Food, Nutrition and Health (93.86%) and Industrial Technology (92.26%). Subjects with the lowest percentage pass rates were Technical Drawing (59.17%) and Textiles, Clothing and Fashion (76%).
Canouan Secondary School (CSS) and Troumaca Ontario Secondary School (TOSS) showed marked improvement in their performance in the 2025 CSEC examinations. In 2024, CSS recorded a pass rate of 60.24% and TOSS 43.62%. In 2025, CSS’s pass rate increased to 85.25% and TOSS’s to 64.41%, representing an increase of 25% and 20.79% respectively.
The Ministry of Education extended congratulations to the students and expressed gratitude to the principals, teachers, and staff at all schools for their support. It further stated: “We are cognisant of the fact that outcomes in education are measured not only in quantitative terms, but also in qualitative terms; therefore, the value added to the lives of all students, the top performers as well as those whose performance can be improved, is greatly appreciated.”
