Self-Employed Mother of Three Praises God after Winning Courts Promotion

Canouan resident Annika Garrick Lavia was left ecstatic when she received a phone call last week from Courts SVG Ltd., informing her that the Woodhouse couch set she had purchased, valued at EC$4,899.00, had won her a full refund under the company’s “Win Your Purchase Free” Woodhouse promotion.

Lavia said she was travelling by boat when she received the unexpected call from Lisa Veira, a Marketing Officer at Courts SVG Ltd., who told her she had won. “I was shocked and ecstatic. I praised God and kept asking, ‘Are you sure?’ and was filled with joy and gratitude,” she recalled.

She explained that she had decided to purchase the set after Hurricane Beryl left her family’s furniture damaged. “I replaced it with a couch instead,” Lavia said.

When she came to collect her refund, staff members of the company noted that Lavia was extremely excited, especially since she had already begun making payments toward the set.

The win not only gave her a complete refund but also left her with a brand-new set free of charge.

A Courts representative said the company was pleased to see Lavia win, noting her generosity in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.

“We know Mrs Lavia because of our interaction last year with Hurricane Beryl, and she probably wouldn’t say it, but she was one of those persons in Canouan who literally opened her home and fed persons who were affected,” the representative said. “We’re very happy to know that somebody who gave of herself has gotten this blessing. We congratulate her.”

The representative encouraged other customers to remain hopeful, noting that every shopper has a chance to win.

“I know some customers might be saying, ‘I never win anything, what about me?’ But I always tell people, your time probably hasn’t come yet. Maybe there’s a bigger prize in store for you, so I encourage our customers, potential customers, and our very good customers to continue shopping with Courts. You never know when your name will be pulled and when you might get the call to say that you are our next winner.”

The mother of three, who is married and self-employed, described the prize as “a blessing” and expressed deep gratitude for the unexpected reward.
