Zacary James of The Melisizwe Brothers, recognized for his originality, was crowned one of Canada’s Top Young Songwriters in 2025 by the Society of Composers and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) Foundation.
Zacary James, whose parents are both proud Vincentians, has been crowned one of Canada’s Top Young Songwriters by the SOCAN Foundation – sponsored by SiriusXM Canada.
Zacary is a member of the internationally acclaimed trio “The Melisizwe Brothers,” who have deep Vincentian roots and continue to carry the spirit of St. Vincent and the Grenadines with them onto the world stage.
The SOCAN Foundation celebrates emerging talents who demonstrate creativity, originality, and a distinctive voice in shaping the future of music.
Zacry is said to be recognized for his soulful vocals and outstanding songwriting ability and has joined his brothers in inspiring audiences around the globe.
The trio has won hearts worldwide through tours across North America, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond, as well as through viral performances and major television appearances.
Their music is grounded in messages of unity, resilience, and hope—continues to reflect the values instilled by their Vincentian heritage.
