Clear Harbor, a customer care centre in St Vincent and the Grenadines, opened its doors to a new lounge and games room on Friday, 26 September 2025, for their associates to relax, unwind, and build a sense of community.
The newly completed lounge and games room is located at Lower Middle Street, Kingstown, next to MountainTop Springs Limited.
This initiative was fully funded by Clear Harbor as an act of giving back to their associates and ensuring that they are prioritising the well-being of their staff.
At the opening ceremony, remarks were provided by Cecilia Stoute, Program Operations Director; Melinda Austrie, HR Manager; Reginald Thomas, Clear Harbor Consultant; and Facilities Manager K’More Edwards, who also provided a tour of the lounge and its amenities.

In an exclusive interview with One News SVG, Melinda Austrie, HR Manager of Clear Harbor, was asked about the purpose of creating this space. She explained: “Earlier this year we opened the gym in February, which was focused on health, fitness, and getting employees moving since Clear Harbor associates do a lot of sedentary work. With the lounge, we wanted to create a space for them to feel safe, to rest, relax, and unwind. A lounge complements the gym because it gives associates a place where they can play games, spend time together, and build a sense of community.”
Inside the lounge and games room, associates have access to sitting areas with couches and beanbags for resting. It also includes two televisions with PS5 consoles and a variety of games including darts, Ludo, Jenga, Monopoly, Dominos, and Scrabble. Associates can use the facility at any time at no cost.
When asked about the associates’ initial reaction, Ms Austrie responded: “Employees were excited from the start — many asked me daily if we could open it early. They loved it right away. They’ve already started competing with each other and enjoying the space.” She further noted: “Most importantly, they know it’s theirs — a place designed specifically for them to relax and rejuvenate.”

When asked about the hope for the installation of this space, Ms Austrie said: “You know the saying, ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.’ The lounge is about making sure it’s not just work, work, work. Alongside the gym, this is their space to release stress and recharge. After a frustrating or difficult call, associates can use the lounge as an oasis to reset and take their minds off work. At Clear Harbor, we’re building a community that balances both work and relaxation.”
“Our goal is to give back to our employees as much as they give to us. Associates are the heart of the company — Clear Harbor wouldn’t exist without them. The lounge, which is free for all associates, is our way of showing that we care, appreciate them, and want to give back,” Ms Austrie said, highlighting the company’s commitment to the well-being of the staff.
By providing this space, Clear Harbor reinforces that its associates are at the heart of the company, creating not just a workplace, but a community where work and relaxation are balanced.
