The Unicomer Group continues to reaffirm its commitment to community investment and cultural support across the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) by celebrating Caribbean culture, empowering youth, and improving lives as part of its broader mission of care, connection, and corporate social responsibility.
The company partnered with some of the Caribbean’s most prominent cultural events, including the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival and the St. Kitts Music Festival, while maintaining strong support for Carnival celebrations across St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Antigua, and Grenada. These partnerships reflect Unicomer’s recognition of Carnival as a vibrant expression of Caribbean unity, artistry, and national identity.
Its sponsorship extended to parade bands, junior carnival groups, and cultural competitions to ensure that these traditions remain accessible, sustainable, and empowering for communities throughout the region.
Unicomer also strengthened its involvement in sports development by sponsoring the St. Lucia Semi-Pro Football League and the Corporate Warfare Futsal Tournament, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among youth and professional athletes alike.
Beyond culture and sport, Unicomer continues to support schools, churches, and charitable organisations through donations and community initiatives. As part of its World Sight Day observance, Courts Optical will soon launch a regional eye health programme, offering free and discounted eye tests and prescription glasses to students, teachers, and public servants across the OECS. The initiative aims to improve vision health and learning outcomes among young people while supporting educators and essential workers.
The company also continues to recognise excellence across the region through awards ceremonies that celebrate leadership, academic achievement, and community service.
“Our mission goes beyond retail—it’s about making a difference,” said OECS Marketing Manager at Unicomer, Kim A. Florent. “From cultural celebrations to community outreach, we remain committed to enriching lives throughout the OECS and building on the legacy of care and connection that defines the Unicomer brand.”
As the company prepares to launch its 2025 Peak Season, Unicomer remains focused on delivering added value for customers while sustaining its support for initiatives that empower youth, celebrate Caribbean culture, and strengthen communities across the region.
