Pharmacist Charged with Attempted Murder

A pharmacist, Mr Esworth Lewis, aged 35, of Calder, has been charged with attempted murder in relation to an attack on Mr Omarie Pereira.

Mr Lewis was arrested and charged with two offences: (1) with intent to commit the offence of murder against Mr Omarie Pereira, aged 38, a butler from Biabou; and (2) the unlawful use of a firearm.

He appeared before the Serious Offences Court on 13 October.

Mr Lewis is accused of shooting Mr Pereira on the left side of his body with a firearm, with the intention to commit murder.
