Members of the North Windward community have expressed outrage and condemned the damage caused to several vehicles following an event in the area.

A community member informed One News SVG that approximately 19 vehicles sustained damage, including a privately-owned bus whose windscreen was broken by a stone.

“It happened after the handing over ceremony of title deeds for persons yesterday evening (October 21) when persons were driving by an area in Orange Hill where the new secondary school is being constructed,” the individual stated.

“About 19 vehicles got damaged, including side glass, mirror, back glass, and another windshield too,” they added.

At the event held by the government at the new settlement in Orange Hill a number of people throughout North Windward received title deeds.

A Social media personality publicly addressed the issue on Wednesday night via his Facebook page. He reported that stones were being thrown at vehicles passing through Orange Hill, where the new secondary school is under construction.

He urged that these actions be condemned during the election campaign, stating, “let’s go through this election peacefully”.

Several other community members took to social media to condemn the issue and express their frustration.

It is not clear who was behind the incident.

Another source confirmed that the incident has been reported to the police.

Community members also noted that this is not the first occasion that stones have been hurled at vehicles during the election season in the North Windward constituency.
