The Grace Community Baptist Church has announced that construction commenced on October 20, 2025, on a new Christian academy located adjacent to the church’s premises in Kingstown Park.
“The mission of Grace Christian Academy is to equip students with the knowledge and character necessary to become productive citizens of our nation,” said senior pastor of Grace Community Baptist Church, Dexter Kirby. “We believe an essential component of this is to inspire students to become disciples of Jesus Christ in order for them to be the men and women God has designed them to be.”
Pastor Kirby stated that the academy will be a place where both the Bible and the ‘Belt’ will play both an instructive and corrective role in character development.

“We believe education should not solely focus on mental acuity but also on moral acumen. It should celebrate both knowledge and wisdom, whereby students are not merely taught how to read but also how to reason,” he said.
He noted that after witnessing the moral decay, biblical illiteracy, and lack of academic excellence plaguing the nation’s youth, he believes it is imperative that the church takes action to mitigate against “the forces of evil seeking to destroy our young people.”
He added, “To do nothing is not an option. Therefore, it is our goal to offer holistic help through Christian education, by which our children can be socially, spiritually, and academically assisted.”
