Duo Charged with Assaulting Female Officer, Damaging Phone

Police have arrested and charged Ozarry Joseph, a 25-year-old mechanic from La Croix, and Brani Alexander, a 25-year-old mechanic from Evesham, with assaulting a female officer and damaging her phone.

In a press release, the police said: “The accused unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 28-year-old police officer of Calliaqua by boxing her about her body, choking her, and pushing her to the ground.

They were further charged with damaging one black Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus cellular phone valued at $1,200.00 ECC by smashing it on the ground — the property of the same.”

Joseph and Alexander were also charged with additional offences, the police said.

According to the police report, Joseph faces charges of resisting arrest and using indecent language in a public place, allegedly saying, “way the f^&k you telling me bout strength,” while Alexander faces a charge of using indecent language, allegedly saying, “way the mother c*&t you does harass the boy for you nah weary,” in public during the incident.

All offences were committed in Evesham on November 1, 2025.

Joseph and Alexander appeared before the Calliaqua Magistrate Court on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The conditions of their station bail continue, and the matters were adjourned and transferred to the Mesopotamia Magistrate Court for November 7, 2025.
