Charisma Charles, 21, a former St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC) graduate who deferred her Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies twice due to financial struggles, has been selected as Contestant Number One for Miss SVG 2025, sponsored by Instacash.

After completing her Paralegal Studies at SVGCC, Ms. Charles explained that she is entering a new chapter built on the same foundation of perseverance. “Then, it was about finishing my education; now it’s about using my voice and presence to encourage others to keep going and to believe that even when life tests you, you can still shine with grace and purpose.”

She shared that her platform for the pageant is rooted in resilience, faith, and empowerment through education.

She expressed that the same determination that carried her across the graduation stage last June also motivated her to enter this pageant and strive even further. “My journey hasn’t been an easy one. I’ve faced delays, financial struggles, and moments where giving up felt like the only option. But every time life said ‘wait,’ I chose to believe that it wasn’t denial. It was preparation,” she said.

Ms. Charles further stated: “That belief that God’s timing is perfect is what carries me today. Becoming a Miss SVG contestant represents more than a dream. It’s a reminder that no matter where you start or how many times you’re set back, you can still rise and reach for more.”

As a final word of encouragement, she said: “To every young adult out there, I know what it feels like to face setbacks, to question your path, and to wonder if you’ll ever make it through. But hold on. Every struggle is shaping you for something greater. Don’t rush your journey or compare your pace to anyone else’s. Trust God’s timing, stay consistent, and believe that your story can inspire others, too. The same stage that once symbolized my survival now represents
my growth, and yours can, too.”
