Kingstown, St. Vincent November 21. 2025 – Opposition Leader Dr. Godwin Friday has unveiled the New Democratic Party’s (NDP) manifesto at a Thanksgiving Rally, describing it as a “document of hope and change” that will deliver jobs, safer communities, and opportunities for young people if the party is elected to office.

Dr Friday told supporters that the manifesto reflects months of consultations across villages, rallies, and community meetings, and represents the collective aspirations of Vincentians. “This is what the New Democratic Party government will deliver for the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” he declared. “No longer will our young people be waiting for a future that never comes. From our first day in office, we will begin creating that better future.”

The opposition leader outlined several priorities contained in the document. He said the NDP will create thousands of jobs and raise wages to address the cost-of-living crisis, which he described as “crushing families for months.” He added: “For too long, our brightest and best have left our shores to seek opportunities abroad because wages here are among the lowest in the region. We will change that.”

On public safety, Friday pledged to restore security in communities. “We will make our communities safe again so Vincentians can enjoy an evening out, visit the places they once frequented, and live without fear of crime and violence that now plague our society,” he said.

Infrastructure renewal is also a central focus. Friday criticized the poor condition of roads, bridges, and public buildings, promising major investment to reverse years of neglect. “Visitors and returning citizens alike are shocked at the state of our infrastructure. We will fix that, making our public spaces functional, safe, and worthy of our people,” he stated.

Youth empowerment featured prominently in his address. “One of our top priorities is to deliver more opportunities for our young people. They deserve to succeed here, in this beautiful land, not to be forced abroad for a future that never comes,” Friday said.

He also underscored the NDP’s commitment to transparency and accountability. “This manifesto is not just promises it is our written commitment to you. In government, we will be accountable and transparent. You can hold us to what we say we will do, because we will tell it like it is and deliver on our word.”

The launch positions the NDP’s manifesto as the centrepieceof its campaign, with Dr. Friday insisting that the party’s plans are rooted in the voices of Vincentians themselves. “This is your manifesto, distilled from our conversations with you in villages, rallies, and homes across the country. Together, with God’s help, we will build a better future for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines,” he concluded.

The Unity Labour Party (ULP) launched its 2025 election manifesto on November 16, 2025, the 107‑page document, described by party leaders as a “contract with the people,” outlines a vision to transform Saint Vincent and the Grenadines into a modern, inclusive, and resilient nation. Its focus includes job creation, healthcare reform, housing development, world class education, agricultural expansion, tourism growth, cost‑of‑living relief, and infrastructure renewal.

Manifestos are a critical part of election campaigns, serving as written commitments that outline each party’s priorities and promises. They provide voters with a clear roadmap of proposed policies, allowing citizens to compare visions, hold leaders accountable, and make informed choices about the future direction of their country.
