The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Co-operative League has announced its Board of Directors and outlined priorities for the 2026 programme year following its 45th Annual General Meeting.
The Board is led by Mr. Cecil Charles as President, with Ms. Cecelia J. Williams serving as Vice President, Ms. Lanel Black as Secretary, and Mrs. Sabita Jacobs-Seymour as Treasurer. The remaining Directors are Mrs. Wendy Bynoe, Mr. Timothy Scott, and Mr. Philmore Isaacs.
In outlining its priorities for 2026, the League indicated that strong emphasis will be placed on modernisation and operational readiness within the sector. Key areas of focus include advancing digital payments capability, supporting credit unions’ participation in the regional payments system, and guiding the transition to the new credit reporting framework.

The League also identified governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance as continuing priorities. Planned activities for 2026 include targeted training and leadership development for boards, management, and staff, aimed at strengthening decision-making, enhancing oversight, and ensuring that credit unions remain well equipped to meet evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining strong member protection and public confidence.
The League noted that disaster preparedness and business continuity will remain key components of its 2026 work programme, particularly in light of the sector’s increased exposure to climate-related events. It added that collaboration with affiliates and regional partners will continue, with a focus on strengthening resilience planning, improving response co-ordination, and exploring appropriate risk-financing solutions.
The League reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a stable, inclusive, and sustainable co-operative sector that continues to serve the needs of its members and communities throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
