Post mortem shows Richards’ head was removed

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) released post mortem results today (January 9) as the investigation continues into the death of Mr. Earol Richards, a 69-year-old Farmer of Park Hill.

The partially decomposed body of Mr. Richards was discovered in an abandoned house in Park Hill on January 7, 2026.

A post-mortem examination conducted on Friday, January 9, 2026, confirmed that Mr. Richards died as a result of multiple chop wounds and decapitation.

This investigation remains ongoing.

The RSVGPF said it urges anyone with information that may assist with this case to contact the Major Crimes Unit at (784) 456-1810, Police Control at (784) 457-1211, or call 999/911. All information received will be handled with strict confidence.

The RSVGPF said it extends condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Richards.

Mr. Richards’ death marks the first homicide of 2026.

In 2025, there were 40 homicides, 37 of which were categorized as murders. The 2025 figure was a 25 percent reduction from the 54 recorded in 2024.
