BREAKING: One dead, multiple hospitalized after Lowmans Bay Accident

One man is dead following an accident at Lowmans Bay this morning (January 12).

The deceased was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.


The identity of the man is known but will be released in a later report.


According to reports, the man was in a truck transporting several other men when the truck experienced difficulties coming down a hill and smashed into a crane near the entrance of VINLEC’s power plant in Lowmans Bay.


Two men were pinned in the front of the truck but were later freed with the assistance of others at the scene.


“The truck had four (4) others on the back. They went to the hospital already,” our person on the scene reported.


The others are nursing injuries at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.


The incident comes days after two people suffered grave injuries when an ambulance was involved in an accident in the Touruma area of North Windward.
