VACANCY #2: Manager at Barrouallie and Layou Prudential Friendly Society

The Barrouallie and Layou Prudential Friendly Society is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operational management, financial stability, and growth of the Society, ensuring excellent service delivery to our members.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

The Manager will be responsible for a wide range of duties vital to the Society’s success, including but not limited to:

Operational Oversight: Managing the day-to-day administration of the Society, including staff supervision, workflow management, and maintenance of accurate records and members’ information

Financial Management: Overseeing subscription fee collection, claims processing, delinquency management and expense tracking

Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the Society operates in full compliance with all relevant laws, the Friendly Societies Act of 2021, other relevant regulations, and the Society’s by-laws

Membership Services: Providing exceptional customer service to members, handling inquiries, processing applications, and managing policy changes

Business Development: Implementing strategies to increase membership, promote the Society’s products, and enhance the Society’s presence in the local communities

Claims Administration: Effectively managing the process of receiving, assessing, and settling death benefit claims in a timely and fair manner

Reporting: Preparing and presenting comprehensive reports on the Society’s performance and operational status to the Board of Directors and Trustees

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications and experience:

Education: An Associate Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of proven managerial or supervisory experience in the financial services sector, insurance industry, or a comparable member-based entity 

Knowledge: ​Fundamental understanding of financial principles 

Familiarity with the operations and regulatory environment of Friendly Societies or similar non-profit/mutual organisations is a distinct advantage.

Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities

Demonstrated ability in problem solving and decision-making
