Two Marriaqua Men Shot and killed in under 24 hours – Police Report

A maintenance worker was shot and killed in Montaque, Mesopotamia on February 6, and in less than 24 hours, a labourer from Richland Park was shot and killed in the Brighton/Diamond area of East St. George.

It is not clear if the two incidents involving the men from the Marriaqua constituency are related.

Here are the police reports on the two incidents.

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it is investigating a homicide which occurred in Mesopotamia.

Preliminary investigations indicate that about 10:50 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, police received a report of a shooting in Montaque, Mesopotamia, and responded. On arrival, officers were informed that Kevin Richards, a 25-year-old Maintenance Worker of Montaque, Mesopotamia, had sustained injuries and was transported to the Levi Latham Health Centre for medical attention.

Richards was received at the medical facility with gunshot injuries about his body, where he was met unresponsive and later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The RSVGPF said itextends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

In another incident, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said it is investigating a homicide which occurred along the Diamond/Brighton public roadway.

Preliminary investigations indicate that about 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Lenford Peters, a 43-year-old Labourer of Richland Park, was walking along the Diamond/Brighton public road when he was accosted by a masked assailant and shot, receiving multiple gunshot injuries about his body.

Officers responded to the report and found Peters lying motionless with apparent gunshot injuries. A medical practitioner later attended and pronounced him dead. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The RSVGPF said it extends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
