The St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Chess Federation has announced the outstanding performance of the National Lottery Junior Chess Team at the inaugural Fedon Bilateral Invitational Chess Competition in Grenada, where the team emerged victorious with a 9.5ā5.5 overall score.
Representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines were team captain Vedant Shetty, Leāmar Abbott, Nathanael Lawrence, Stacy Baptiste-King and Arianna Balcombe. The team was guided by manager Oris Robinson and coach Terrance Latctman.
According to the Federation, the Vincentian team displayed focus, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the three rounds of competition against strong regional opponents. In the opening round, SVG secured a 3ā2 victory, followed by a commanding 4ā1 performance in round two. The final round ended in a closely contested 2.5ā2.5 draw, sealing the teamās overall win.

The Federation noted that the result reflected the playersā preparation, discipline and teamwork over the course of the tournament.
The team departed for Grenada on February 13, 2026, and is scheduled to return on February 16, 2026. Their next assignment will be the Chatoyer Youth Tournament, scheduled for March 2026 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Federation commended the players for representing the country with integrity and determination and expressed appreciation to the National Lottery Authority for its continued support of youth chess development.
