The Kingstown Co‑operative Credit Union Ltd. (KCCU) held its annual school quiz finals at the NIS Conference Room in Kingstown on March 18, 2026, bringing together students from across SVG for the concluding round of the competition. The event emphasised student development and academic growth, providing a platform for participants to showcase their knowledge and skills.
Speaking at the finals, Education Officer, Ms. Noreen Ferguson, stressed that events such as the KCCU quiz competition are extremely important as they provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned, develop critical thinking skills, and work collaboratively under pressure. She congratulated the students for reaching the finals and encouraged them to remain focused, strive for excellence, and believe in their abilities. Ms. Ferguson also commended KCCU for its ongoing dedication to youth development.

President of the KCCU Board of Directors, Mr. Timothy Scott, highlighted the quiz’s role in the organisation’s social cooperative responsibility and its contribution to the holistic development of young people throughout SVG. He noted that the competition equips students with skills that will benefit them academically and personally as they progress through school and beyond.
The KCCU Annual Mastermind Quiz commenced on February 20, 2026, with the preliminaries featuring 38 registered schools, including participants from Bequia and Canouan. The schools were divided into seven groups, from which 10 schools advanced to the semifinals. Ultimately, six schools qualified for the final round: Lowmans Windward Anglican Primary School, Kingstown Preparatory School, St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School, New Grounds Primary School, Richland Park Government School, and Bequia Anglican Primary School.

The quiz finals were met with enthusiasm from both students and teachers, with participants demonstrating knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork. The event also celebrated the efforts of teacher guides and the wider school communities that supported the students throughout the competition.
The annual competition has been part of KCCU’s youth development initiatives since the early 1990s, providing generations of students with opportunities to develop knowledge, hone critical thinking skills, and learn more about the credit union movement across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
