One person has been confirmed dead and several others are reported to be in critical condition following a motor vehicle accident in Overland today (Thursday, March 26).
The deceased has been identified as Mary Brackin, a resident of Sandy Bay. She reportedly succumbed to her injuries at the Modern Medical Complex in Georgetown.
According to reports, motor vehicle H8660, a minibus, was travelling along the main road in Overland, North Windward, when the driver reportedly encountered difficulties. The vehicle subsequently went over an embankment, injuring several passengers.
This incident is the second reported this year involving multiple injuries aboard a passenger bus.
On January 19, 2026, the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) stated that seven individuals were critically injured in a motor vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. along the South Union Public Road.
The Overland incident also marks the third road fatality recorded in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines for 2026.
On January 17, 2026, Franklyn Audain, a driver known as Santa, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, days after Stephen Bulze, a 58-year-old resident of Barrouallie, was pronounced dead on arrival at the same hospital on January 12.
Both men succumbed to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision that occurred on January 12, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m. along the Lowmans Bay Public Road.
