Richland Park Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Primary School is celebrating a major milestone after student-athlete Mateo Bailey delivered a record-breaking run at the Inter-Primary Athletics Championships.
On March 25, 2026, Bailey produced an outstanding performance in the Boys 4 to 6 80 metre dash, clocking an impressive time of 13.06 seconds to set a new Inter-Primary Championships record. He surpassed the previous record of 13.74 seconds, which was set in 2022 by Questelles Government School, further cementing his achievement among the top young athletes in the competition.
This accomplishment is even more significant as it comes in only the third year that Richland Park SDA Primary has participated in the competition throughout its 80 year history. Despite being relatively new to the event, the school has demonstrated steady growth and a strong commitment to excellence in athletics.

The principal and staff have expressed immense pride in Bailey’s achievement, highlighting his discipline and dedication in representing the school. His success serves as an inspiration to his peers and reflects the school’s ongoing efforts to develop well-rounded students.
“This is a proud moment for our school community,” a school representative said. “Mateo’s achievement shows what is possible with faith and hard work. We look forward to many more successes in the years ahead.”
Richland Park SDA Primary continues to nurture students who excel not only academically but also socially, with growing success in extracurricular activities such as athletics.
