Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – The eastern Caribbean will have its first Beaches Resort, when Sandals Resorts International (SRI), opens Beaches in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The USD $100 million hotel rehabilitation and construction project at the now disused Buccament Bay Resort, will be the largest in St. Vincent and the Grenadines with its 330 to 350 rooms and will be able to host 1,400 guests at capacity.
The hotel, which will take about 18-months to complete, will be one of the largest in the eastern Caribbean, investors say.
It will also make St. Vincent and the Grenadines the eight Caribbean country on which Sandals’ will operate a hotel.
Deputy Chairman of Sandals, Adam Stewart, said at a July 22, contract signing ceremony between Sandals and the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines that beaches will be a multi-generational and family oriented hotel.
According to its website, Beaches all-inclusive Resorts are located in Turks and Caicos and Jamaica, in the western Caribbean.
