Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – Reports have been circulating on social media that a child died early Sunday (September 20), and that dengue is a suspected contributor to the child’s death.
The reports are that the child, a male, was good in good condition a few days ago and attending school, but fell ill and died.
The development comes after it was reported that another child died late last week, with dengue suspected as a contributor to the child’s death.
There has been no information on either of the reports from the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the environment.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines has seen a spike in the number of dengue cases in recent weeks.
Some 45 percent of cases are children ages 0-15, a health official said recently.
