In an exclusive interview with One News SVG, Doyle says his party is not in a state of readiness to contest the general elections which will be held in December 2020.

The party’s founder says he recruited thirteen (13) out of fifteen (15) candidates to contest the elections. But only three (3) of the candidates selected were serious and the other nine (9) were in it for personal gains. “I laid off those nine (9) candidates. I really can’t take on them people because they only come to the party for money and personal gains. They are not serious,” 19 year old Doyle says.

The UPPs Founder also issued a statement on Facebook saying that even if his party will not be contesting the general elections, he believes that urgent political change is required in SVG. He urges Vincentians to not treat election like a popularity contest and to vote for the party that they believe will deliver the best outcome for the country.

The Obrien’s Valley resident said he will contest the 2025 general elections and he will recruit new candidates ahead of that time.
