Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – A new Cabinet will be sworn-in today to run the affairs of the Executive Arm of government for the current 5-year term of the Unity Labour Party – ULP.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. at Heritage Square in Kingstown.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is expected to announce ministerial portfolios and positions of Senators, and possibly who will be the speaker of the House of Assembly.

Dr. Gonsalves and his ULP won a historic 5th consecutive term in office following the November 5, 2020 General Elections. The ULP secured a 9-6 victory over the opposition New Democratic Party but narrowly lost the popular vote.

In his address at the ULP’s victory rally on November 7, Dr. Gonsalves said that newcomers – Orando Brewster, Curtis King, and Carlos James who all won their seats in Parliament, will be part of the new Cabinet.
