Discussion: One major question on the minds of Vincentians in recent times is whether missing reports were filed with the police for two persons recently found dead.
On May 12, the decomposing body of a young lady was found on Richmond Hill Road in Kingstown, but there were no missing reports issued by the police or the local media.
It turned out to be the body of 17-year-old Precious Williams of Sion Hill/Walvaroo in East Kingstown.
The identification of the body was done only after police released photos of tattoos and a piece of jewelry found on the victim’s body.
Meanwhile on May 19, the “badly decomposing” body of a boy was found in a car on a road leading to the Diamond landfill.
There was no missing report issued by the police or the local media for the child said to be seven years of age.
Vincentians are wondering why there was no missing person report for these individuals.
Meanwhile, the family of Ahjontae ‘Cocks’ Woods reported him missing a day after he did not return home from a beach trip at Indian Bay.
On the same day he was reported missing (May 16), the SVG Coast Guard carried out a search and later found his body.
When should you file a missing person report?
Anytime you suspect a person is missing, it is okay to report it, according to local police. There is no need to wait for 24 hours.
