The winner of the $595,000 lottery prize, Mr. Lionel ‘Thomas’ Browne collected his winning prize today (September 5) from the National Lotteries Authority.
Mr. Browne, a chauffeur from Overland collected his winnings at a ceremony held at the National Lotteries Authority this morning.
Mr. Browne drives a minibus (owned by someone else) which operates the Georgetown to Kingstown route.
In his remarks, the 55-year-old said he has four children – two young ones to take care of and will focus on getting somewhere of his own to live.
He said he was playing the numbers repeatedly for a very long time and is finally happy that they finally came as the winning numbers.
Mr. Browne bought the winning ticket at Warrican Shop at Langley Park. The winning numbers were 6,10, 18, 19, 21.
He said it feels nice to be the winner.
Manager of the National Lotteries Authority – Mr. Mac Gregor Sealey encouraged Mr. Browne to spend the money wisely.
