Press release
Miss SVG contestant Shannan John completed a First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course earlier today.
The session, led by JARIC Environment, Safety and Health Services Ltd, at the Vermont Community Center, stays on par with her community-based project ‘Promoting Safety and Reducing Crime’.
John, who is also contestant number three (3), received training in the “dos and don’ts” of reactive behaviour when someone is having a stroke, asthma attack and seizure by instructor Shanelle Malcolm.
According to her, the information gathered today will be useful in an event where someone’s life might be in danger.
“I might be able to save another person’s life”, she added.
Today’s training marks the end of Day 2 of her community based project. Next is an official launch of her Neighborhood Watch website which will be held on September 20th at the Vermont Community Center at 5:00 PM.
