Twenty-one trained nurses were recognized yesterday (December 29) as they made history being the first batch of students to complete a nursing program offered by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College through a franchise arrangement by University of the West Indies.
The 21 students received their certificates at a recognition ceremony yesterday (December 29) for completing the bachelor of science in nursing franchise program of the University of the West Indies Mona Campus at the SVGCC.
The ceremony was held at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College’s Villa campus.
The nurses also took the International Nurses’ Pledge after which they were welcomed to the nursing profession, officially.
The program is a four (4) year, Pre RN Bachelors programme offered at the SVGCC on franchise from the UWI Mona Campus, the SVGCC’s website says.
Students who have applied to the program over the years have had to do so through the University of the West Indies – UWI Mona’s application portal.
