Parliament passed 26 Bills in 2022

This country’s Parliament passed 26 bills in 2022, the House of Assembly announced in Issue Three of its quarterly report for 2022.

Among the bills passed include the Port Modernization Project (Loan Authorization) Act 2022, the Education Miscellaneous (Amendment) Act, 2022 which paved the way for the establishment of a Ministry of Tertiary Education, and the Medical Laboratories Bill, 2022.

The 2023 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure were laid and approved at the sitting of December 13, 2022.

The first sitting of 2023 is expected to be on January 9 at 4:00 p.m., where Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves is expected to introduce the Appropriation Bill for the year 2023 and deliver the Budget Address, the House Speaker’s report stated.
