PM visits low income housing project in Guyana

Prime Minister of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves today visited the government’s low income homes and the DuraVilla unit constructed in Great Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal led the delegation along with Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Nigel Dharamlall, Director of Projects at the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA), Omar Narine and Head of DuraVilla, Rafeek Khan.

The team also visited DuraVilla’s housing operations at Land of Canaan, where all modular components of the homes are manufactured, showing the process from the initial stages of acquisition of raw materials, sawmilling, manufacturing of panels, packaging and shipping.

Dr. Gonsalves is on an official four-day State visit to Guyana.
