Your projections regarding Road March 2023 were true – One News Poll

Many One News SVG readers participated in our carnival poll where we gave followers the chance to declare who they thought would win the 2023 Road March title.

The results? Well, the responses readers left in the poll matched the official results of the 2023 Road March, for the most part.

More than 820 people voted in the poll and the top three songs, according to the responses were “Headways” by Esron Spielbery, “Madness” by Delroy ‘Firman’ Hooper, and “Carnival” by Zimbory ‘Ghaza’ Joseph.

According to the results released by the Carnival Development Corporation – CDC, these were the same top three winners in the 2023 Road March Competition, though their ranks differed.

Road March is determined by the number of times a song is played on official carnival days during judged segments.

In the One News SVG Poll, Esron Spielbery placed first with 341 votes or 41 percent of the votes while in the CDC results, he placed third with 27 points.

Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper placed second in the One News SVG poll with 211 votes or 25 percent of the votes. In the CDC results, he placed first with 69 points.

Zimbory ‘Ghaza’ Joseph placed third in the One News SVG poll with his song – “Carnival”. He scored 71 votes or 8 percent of the votes. In the CDC results, he placed second with 41 points.

In a nutshell, you were correct about who the top three artistes and their songs would be regarding Road March 2023 though their actual positions differed in the official results.
